ASNS Ingredient has launched a major investment project titled “Development of Pea Protein and Starch Production Facility in Jelgava”, aiming to establish a state-of-the-art processing site for transforming locally grown raw materials into high-value food ingredients.
The new facility will support a full production cycle – from intake, cleaning, and milling of peas to the extraction, packaging, and pre-sale preparation of high value added food ingredients. This investment enhances the company’s ability to create sustainable, locally sourced, and functionally advanced plant-based ingredients.
This project represents a key step in ASNS Ingredient’s long-term strategy to expand into sustainable food production and strengthen Latvia’s role in the European plant-based protein sector. It also supports regional development by promoting local agriculture and creating new job opportunities.
The project is supported by public co-financing from European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. Project No.: 22-00-A00402-000047. The project is implemented until September 2025.
