During the research report period, Activity 1 “Pea Hull Extraction” was implemented by SIA
“ASNS Ingredient.” Within the scope of the activity, pea grinding was carried out to prepare
4 samples with different ratios of starch and pea hull.
1.1. Sub-activity: Pea Extraction
4.8 tons of yellow peas were used. The obtained 8 samples with different properties were
prepared, analyzed, and stored for the execution of subsequent research activities.
1.2. Sub-activity: Pea Primary Processing
By separating the hulls in sample portions with two methods, suitable quality and
homogeneity were determined. The resulting division was 92.1% peas and 7.9% hulls. The
analysed material had the protein content ranging from 21.14% to 22.4% and a moisture
content of 13.5%.
1.3. Sub-activity: Pea Grinding
The prepared samples were ground, obtaining 3.1 tons of ground material with different
properties.
The first activity of the research has been successfully completed by preparing pea samples
and determining sample properties. In the next stage, it is planned to continue with the 2 nd ,
3 rd , and 4 th activities related to the development and application of extruded products from
pea husks in the food industry.
The project is being implemented from May 2, 2023, to March 31, 2024.
